Not liking Linux right now

OK , I know a lot of people like Linux. In fact, they adore it. And if you have even been on the internet, you've probably seen geeks blog and brag about how great it is. Well, I took on a small project recently that involved Linux. Shorty story - there's good, bad, and ugly. Some of it is self-imposed, but I'm definitely going to write more on this one later...

Linux rocks.

Linux is the nexus of all computing good.

Resistance is futile.

You will be assimilated...

The church building has a workstation (the audio recording/archiving workstation) that runs on Mandriva Linux, and the workstation in the Children's Ministry/General Office is running Ubuntu - and both rock. ;D

Yeah. Sure. Now if only they could make one widely distributed and completely tailored to my task, I would be in love with them :)
